District Structure

Team DLV in Oakhanger and District Scouts helps bring the whole district together by offering supportive leadership and clear coordination. Their role is to make sure every team can work confidently and collaboratively, creating a safe, engaging, and high‑quality Scouting experience for all. As District Lead Volunteers (DLVs), Lee Lewis and Mike Collins work closely with the Programme, Support, Volunteer Development, and 14–24 Teams, enabling local leaders to focus on what they do best, delivering great activities for young people. Each team has its own area of responsibility, from programme planning and events to volunteer welcome, learning, and community impact, while staying connected to support shared goals and district priorities.

This approach is rooted in clarity, openness, and mutual support. Team DLV provides overall direction by shaping the district vision, building strong community links, and ensuring that essential governance, such as safeguarding, trustee responsibilities, and membership processes is well managed. By working in a joined‑up way, volunteers can access the right help when they need it, enjoy greater consistency across the district, and feel supported to grow and develop, both as individuals and as part of the wider Scouting community.
